Exodus, written by Moses about 1400 BC, is the book of redemption. God’s record how He delivered Israel form the bondage of Egypt and gives us types and symbols of Christ, the Passover Lamb, Our Deliverer. The ceremonies and furnishings of the tabernacle also point us ahead to our Messiah, Jesus Christ. Exodus needs Genesis for the foundation and makes it possible for us to understand the New Testament. In Exodus, we find the emergence of the Nation of Israel, its organization, and the giving of the law.
