I & II Samuel
Samuel, the first national prophet of Israel, anointed Saul to serve as Israel’s first king and anointed King David to succeed Saul. The anointing of the Lord moved David from the sheep pasture to the King’s palace. Because David was faithful in the small things, God knew he could be trusted with larger responsibilities. From Samuel we learn the key life principle that to obey is better than to sacrifice. Another important truth from Samuel is that no one is above the law of God! Second Samuel is an historical book that records the establishment of the United Kingdom of Israel and it’s beginning time of great glory.
