The Gospel of John is an eyewitness account of the Life of Jesus written by His closet friend, John the Beloved. John calls for witnesses to give evidence that Jesus Christ is truly the Son of God. He calls for the evidence of His life and His words. John also cites the evidence of His miracles. If we look at John’s Gospel as a book of evidence, we would notice that he calls some witnesses who will testify that Jesus is the Messiah. One of those witnesses is John the Baptist, the cousin of Jesus. The key verse is 20:31, “But these are written that you may believe that Jesus is Christ, the Son of God and believing, you may have life in His name.” Go ahead. Examine the evidence. John was written so that we will believe.
