Revelation Part 2
Chapters 13-22 (and overview) Revelation is largely an “unveiling” of signs and symbols. These symbols are ways of drawing us a picture of understanding. The author is God himself. He revealed these mysteries to Jesus Christ, who gave it to an angel, who gave it to the Apostle John, on the isle of Patmos. This is the only book in the Bible that was given this way. Revelation is also a book of predictive prophecy, meaning that John will tell of events to come. When we learn proper principles of interpretation we realize that the prophecy of revelation is meant to be understood. Finally, Revelation is a revelation of Jesus Christ, King of Kings and Lord of Lords.
